Ferguson could quit over Ronaldo

Outrageous sums of money have been mentioned in this ongoing transfer saga, but despite this David Gill and Sir Alex Ferguson have stood firm and rejected any possibility of a deal being struck.
Now, Real Madrid want to take it to the next step and they think that a bid for the player could be accepted by the club’s heavily indebted American owners. Real Madrid officials think that the Glazers would be more likely to accept the deal as they look to make money off the club.
But Ferguson has moved to reject those rumours. According to the Daily Telegraph, the Scottish gaffer has threatened the Glazers with his resignation if they accept a deal for Ronaldo. The United fans might also have a somewhat adverse reaction to a potential deal and this would put the Glazers in a pot of boiling water.
