Milan’s president Silvio Berlusconi has admitted that Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor could prove to be too expensive for the Italian side, according to Sky Sports.
Adebayor has been made Milan’s number one prime target this summer and Milan director Adriano Galliani had confirmed that the club made an approach to ask Arsenal what they wanted for the striker, but now it seems that the answer was a fee out of Milan’s reach.
Berlusconi told press: “I don’t know whether he will wear our jersey, he costs a lot.”
Whilst Galliani said: “From Monday we will re-start our thinking about signing a striker,”
“We will do what is possible, but it is not easy. We are hitting against economical aspects, and that is fundamental - we can’t spend exaggerated sums.”
“For the moment we are not selling, and we have blocked all operations involved young players and sending them to play elsewhere,”
AC Milan now look to focus their attentions on Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o and Chelsea striker Didier Drogba to strengthen their strike-force.
