David Villa gives Valencia farewell gift (SN)
Spanish international David Villa scored twice, taking his season's tally to 18, in what could be his final appearance for Valencia as they defeated Atletico Madrid 3-1 on Sunday.
Villa, 26, is expected to make a big summer move after watching Valencia fight relegation rather than for a place in the Champions League but he gave the club a leaving present with two goals to help his team triumph on the last day of the season.
Valencia's veteran goalkeeper Santiago Canizares is also set to say goodbye after more than a decade at the club saying he is ready for retirement at the age of 38.
Atletico Madrid had already qualified for the Champions League going into the match at the Mestalla and it showed as they turned in an abject display.
Substitute Kun Aguero scored his 19th goal of the season but it was nothing more than a consolation.
Elsewhere Michael Laudrup said 'adios' to Getafe on Sunday after just one season at the club as his team drew 1-1 with Real Betis.
Laudrup guided Getafe to the Kings Cup final and the UEFA Cup quarter-final - where they were seconds from defeating Bayern Munich - but the Dane recently confirmed that he would be leaving.
Benfica and Sevilla have been mentioned as possible destinations but Laudrup refused to specify where he would be going.
After watching Bernd Schuster leave for Real Madrid last season Getafe must now search for their third coach in as many seasons.
The three key fixtures in the top-flight take place later on Sunday after Real Mallorca's waterlogged pitch forced the kick-offs to be delayed by an hour.
Mallorca's home match against Real Zaragoza at the Ono Estadi was deemed unplayable after torrential rainfall and two other fixtures were also moved as the Mallorca match has an impact on the relegation and UEFA Cup places.
Recreativo Huelva's home match against Valladolid and Racing Santander's game against Osasuna were also moved to 1800 GMT but will go ahead after rain eased off in Mallorca.
Recre, Osasuna, Zaragoza and Valladolid are fighting relegation while Mallorca are trying to wrestle the final UEFA Cup spot from Racing.
Later on Sunday champions Real Madrid will be presented with the league trophy in a glitzy celebration party at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real host relegated Levante who have decided to call off their strike in protest of unpaid wages and bonuses.

Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas said: “Sign Villa!”
Arsenal and Spanish star Cesc Fabregas, was recently asked which player he would most like to see move to Arsenal this summer. Without a doubt, he answered: “Villa!”
“We are very good friends. I think Villa would be very good for Arsenal,” he said.
26-year old David Villa looks set to leave Valencia this summer and has been linked with top clubs across the continent. Early speculators for his signature have been Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham, and now it looks like Arsenal might join the race.
Villa himself says he likes Arsenal due to his friendship with Cesc and the way the team plays. Last month, he stated: “I watch the Premier League a lot and the team I’m most attracted to is definitely Arsenal.”
It has been estimated that it would cost around £25million to lure him away from Valencia

Valencia unveil Emery as new coach (SN)
Valencia have unveiled Spaniard Unai Emery as their new coach, the Spanish cup winners announced Thursday.
“Valencia have reached agreement with Unai Emery according to which he will become the new coach of the first team from July 1 for two seasons,” the club said.
Emery was previously head coach of Almeria, whom he guided to promotion into La Liga in his first season in charge. They finished eighth in Spain's top-flight division this season.
Emery will have as his goal qualification for the Champions League, which alencia will miss out on next season after finishing tenth in the league. They will, however, play in UEFA Cup thanks to their Spanish Cup victory.
The Basque becomes Valencia's fifth coach in one year after Quique Sanchez Flores, Oscar Fernandez, Dutchman Ronald Koeman and Salvador Gonzales.

English trio in race for Serbian star
Premier League sides Everton, Tottenham and Bolton are all chasing Serbian forward Nikola Zigic. Zigic looked to impress scouts as Serbia took on Ireland last night in Dublin, SkySports reveals.
The Serbian currently plays in Spain with Valencia, however the striker has only scored once since joining Los Che in August 2007. Despite a poor season in Spain, Zigic is seen as an ideal target man for many Premiership clubs, undoubtedly due to his phyiscal prowess and height of 6 foot 7 inches.
SkySports further states that all three clubs (Bolton, Everton and Tottenham) were present as Ireland drew 1-1 with Serbia, and Zigic has once expressed a desire to play in England.
It is unclear what price Valencia would ask for the target man, however Valencia revealed that they paid 20 million euros (around £15.9 million) for the Serbian, and may look to refund most of what they paid for him.
The striker has won the ‘Serbian Player of the Year’ award 3 times, and although the Serbian sees the Premier League as the ultimate challenge, it was revealed in January that Zigic turned down a loan move to FA Cup winners Portsmouth.

Valencia look at Super Swede to replace David Villa
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Valencia have already starting to look at players to replace David Villa, as their star striker is expected to depart after the European Championships this summer.
Swedish star Johan Elmander, 26, who currently plays for the French club Toulouse, has been linked with many top clubs already like Barcelona, Juventus, Roma and Galatasaray.
Valencia expect to receive around €30million for Villa, and will use only half of that to purchase Elmander, who is estimated to cost around €14million.
Marca also writes that Valencia’s technical secretary, Juan Sánchez, is a keen admirer of the Swede’s talents, and that he possesses skills of very high standards.
